I qualified in acupressure massage from the Northern College of Acupuncture in 2003 and in acupuncture in 2005. I have run a successful clinic since 2003 in Kirkstall, Leeds that attracts both men and women of all ages and backgrounds and I also practice from a clinic in Wetherby.

I have worked with a variety of local businesses and organisations in Yorkshire including Metro, British Gas and Brahm. I have also worked with local voluntary and charitable groups including St Anne’s Drug Services, Dosti, Vandan at the Cardigan Centre, Leeds MIND, Community Links, Together (formerly MACA), The Positive Care Programme, Active for Life and North East Leeds Primary Care Trust.

Prior to training in Chinese Medicine, I worked in the addictions and mental health fields in Edinburgh, Leeds and West Yorkshire. I was trained to offer auricular acupuncture (in the ears) whilst working with people who wanted to stop taking drugs and saw amazing effects. Not only were people not wanting to use drugs and managing their withdrawals but they were more motivated and had more energy.

I then discovered the benefits of acupuncture myself having suffered a back injury after a car crash. I initially had a course of physiotherapy, osteopathy and lots of therapeutic massage. Nine months after the crash and still experiencing constant pain, acupuncture was the only therapy I had which took the pain away and offered me relief. It gradually strengthened my back and I am now completely pain free.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council
